Local Outreach
The Local Church
The Board of Local Outreach (BoLO) supports NWYM churches in finding creative ways to impact the communities they are located in. We believe that God specifically planted each Evangelical Friends church in the Northwest knowing the specific needs of those local communities of today. BoLO serves as a local ministry support for prayer, ideas, inspiration, connection, encouragement, and support. Each Christian has a story of how Jesus changed their life. We believe each Christian is called to share those stories with those who don’t know Jesus.
“How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher?” —Romans 10:14, CSB
“They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; for they did not love their lives to the point of death.” —Revelation 12:11, CSB
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” —Matthew 28:19, CSB
“Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.” —Galatians 6:9, CSB
Church Planting
In addition to supporting the local church with local outreach, we also provide support and guidance for future church plants. If you would like more information on church planting, email Church Planting with your request.
Local Outreach Scholarships
A part of the responsibility of the Board of Local Outreach is to provide both resources and training to the local church to build bridges of outreach by utilizing a variety of tools to meet the felt needs of their communities.
Effective July 2023, we are offering scholarships for churches to receive funds and counsel to find ways to meet the felt needs of their unique communities. In addition to letting us know about your outreach plans, we also want to know how else we can be supporting you!
To apply for a scholarship, complete this form. Scholarships will be capped at $250, as funds allow and depending upon Board approval.
