Annual Sessions 2025
HOPE | July 20-23, 2025
We are excited to hold this year’s Annual Sessions at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. This year we plan to offer the conference as a hybrid. We encourage people to attend in person if they are able, but there will be an option to attend virtually and sessions and workshops will be video recorded. Please read carefully as there are additional options for youth and families (see below).
Notice: Generally, 2025 Annual Sessions start on Sunday morning in local churches, and depart for home from George Fox University on Wednesday morning.
Sunday, July 20
Opening Session in the worship service at your local church | Featuring: Dr. Jim Le Shana, General Superintendent
Sunday Evening General Session, Missions Banquet | Featuring: David Thomas, Former missionary to Rwanda | Canyon Commons Banquet Rooms 101-103
David draws on his experience in Rwanda to mentor leaders, equipping them to plant whole-life, disciple-making movements, which result in church planting and community transformation. He continues to coach Discipling for Development leaders in Rwanda as they expand into Burundi and Congo. He also coaches a team in Thailand as they launch a disciple-making movement among the Lahu people. He consults with interested leaders and is developing new partnerships. David also loves to intercede for his communities and promote intercession.

Dave Williams brings more than 40 years field experience and 25 years classroom experience to his current role as Professor of Practical Ministry. Dave and his wife, Carol, met at Malone and have been partners in full-time Christian service throughout their 41 years of marriage. By God’s grace, they have been blessed with six children and 13 grandchildren along the way. As the great-grandson of the university’s founders, Walter and Emma Malone, Dave considers it a high and holy privilege to follow in their footsteps as a teacher, mentor, and sacred companion for a new generation of Christian leaders.
Child Care
Child care is provided for children 6 months through Kindergarten.
Youth Connect with Kaleo Academy
Youth Connect this year led by Kaleo Academy will take place July 20-25, 2025 and is designed as a retreat for students involved in the Friends Church (see the schedule below).
The Family Camp Option
Students entering grades 1-6 have the opportunity to attend Day Camp Summer Camp at Camp Tilikum. Commuter and overnight options (lodging with parents) are available.
Middle School Students, grades 6-8 have the opportunity to attend Quest Camp Summer Camp at Camp Tilikum. Commuter and overnight options (lodging with parents) are available.
High School Students get to be a part of Kaleo Academy during the 2024 Annual Sessions. This Kaleo-Lite program will be offered on site at George Fox University, in partnership with Kaleo Academy. Commuter and overnight options at Camp Tilikum (lodging with parents) are also available.

NOTE: Anyone in NWYM is welcome and invited to attend the NWYM Vision Banquet and the Equipping Workshops, but all pastors, elders, representatives, board members, and other church leaders will be especially interested. All times posted are Pacific Standard Time.

Pastor's Conference 2025
An Annual Gathering for Pastors, Spouses, Friends Serving Abroad, Seminary Students, and Ministry Leaders in NWYM of Friends Church.
We invite you to a time of rest, renewal and play. Enjoy the company of other sisters and brothers who serve and seek to honor Jesus and his people. This is a time to renew the joy of seeking and following Christ, to reconnect and make new friends, and to walk the beach and enjoy God’s creation. The food is pretty wonderful as well!

Dates: April 21-24, 2025
Location: Twin Rocks Friends Camp
Speaker: Tony Wheeler, Ph.D., EFC-MAYM Superintendent of Pastoral and Church Health
Tony is a “counselor who speaks.” His passion is to see people set free from past trauma to find a life-long, wholehearted devotion to Jesus and His Word. He has been a featured speaker on Focus on the Family radio, the American Association of Christian Counselors, and The Blessing 101 and 201 DVD series with Dr. John Trent. Tony is a contributing author in Marriage: Its Foundation, Theology, and Mission in a Changing World (Moody Press, 2018). He earned a Master’s in Family Studies/Therapy from Friends University and a Ph.D. from Kansas State University in Family Life Education and Consultation and is the Co-Founder of Wheeler Ministries. Tony and Stacey have been married since 1987 and have three adult children and five grandchildren. He loves taking long drives with Stacey, playing golf, and drinking coffee!

About Friends Men
The purpose of Friends Men, is to keep our eyes on Jesus, find our identity in Christ, listen to the Holy Spirit, and so bear witness as to how Jesus makes a difference in our lives. We do this to be transformed into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29), to go into all the world and tell the Good News to everyone, everywhere (Mark 16:15), so that Jesus may make a difference in the lives of others.

Whether you’re nine or ninety, Man Camp is the perfect opportunity for a winter getaway with fellow men of God. Come ready for a weekend of fun and fellowship in the mountains!

Women’s Retreats
About Friends Women
Friends Women coordinates women’s groups in the individual churches of the yearly meeting area. Projects include the support of a missionary family on a foreign field and partial support of a family in Northwest Yearly Meeting involved in church planting. It also serves as an information link with the work of Evangelical Friends International. Groups within individual churches also have service projects in their local areas, as well as holding fellowship and support meetings.
Goals
- To provide Christian fellowship.
- To provide support through prayer and monetary support to home and Friends Serving Abroad (FSA).
- To provide service and support in our local churches.

It is retreat time again. We are so excited that RISE Retreat will be here soon and hope that you will help us get the word out to your church and community again. Women from Friends churches all over Idaho and beyond are invited, as well any other women, just looking for a chance to “retreat” from the everyday and go deeper in their faith journey.
