Youth Yearly Meeting

Be sure to complete the printable release form if you haven’t already.

Youth Yearly Meeting (YYM) is designed as a leadership training conference for students involved in the Friends Church who have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. The main focus is for youth to learn about and experience Quaker business and interact with the adult Yearly Meeting. During the week middle school and senior high school people meet together to worship. They meet separately to practice Quaker business under the leadership of their peers who fill the roles of YYM officers. This is also done with the guidance of encouraging adults. Participation in a service project, a youth facilitated evening worship with the adults, and a trip to the beach all work together to create a well-rounded growth and leadership experience. We invite all youth interested to attend, but encourage churches to seriously consider sending at least one middle school and one senior high student.

Program cost for YYM is still being determined. In an effort to enhance community and streamline youth programming, Youth Yearly Meeting registration fee includes onsite lodging, all meals (Sunday dinner-Friday breakfast), beach day and the regular program fee.  A key part of the work done together by the youth is greatly enhanced with full and regular participation for the entire week.

Youth Yearly Meeting registration will take place online (click above).  You can check in on Sunday, 1-5 p.m. in the atrium of the Edwards-Holman Science Center. Responsibility for students begins with YYM programming at 3:15 p.m. Sunday in Woodmar Auditorium on the 3rd floor of EHS.
