Tilikum at Yearly Meeting

Children going to Tilikum during the week of NWYM Annual Sessions MUST have a parent or guardian attending Yearly Meeting.

Each year during our Yearly Meeting Sessions, our grade-school children (entering grades 1-6 for the 2019-20 school year—ages six and up) are invited to participate in Tilikum’s day camp program. (Visit their website to learn more about the camp: Tilikum website)

Camp dates: July 22-26, 2019

Cost: $200

The first two children are $200. Any child (within the same family) beyond that receives a $40 discount, making the total $160.

Registration:

  1. Contact Aly Brooks, tilikumcoordinator@nwfriends.org to receive the registration code and specific information for Northwest Yearly Meeting’s students to attend camp.
  2. You will register directly through Camp Tilikum’s website, once you have contacted Aly and have all of the necessary registration information.

Registration deadline: July 1
Registration may be open later than July 1, but it will be based on availability.

If your child has special needs, please help us meet them by letting us know in advance. Contact Elizabeth Licon so we can partner with you.

Parents, if you would like to be involved in the Children’s Yearly Meeting program as a Tilikum helper, please contact Elizabeth Licon, elicon@nwfriends.org, to let her know.

Check-In

Parents should check their children in no earlier than 8:00 a.m. and no later than 8:15 a.m. each morning. Check-in will occur in the Bauman Auditorium parking lot at George Fox University. Please bring everything on the packing list found at the bottom of this page to ensure that your child has a safe, successful, and enjoyable time at Tilikum!

Tilikum has put together another spectacular summer program for your kids! Enjoy five days of outdoor adventure and Christian camping supervised by carefully trained staff.  Because Yearly Meeting Annual Sessions only last through Thursday, please contact the Yearly Meeting’s office to see what housing options exist to be able to stay for the last day of camp.

After Tilikum

Kids will return to George Fox University at approximately 4:15 p.m. If you show up earlier, do not expect your children to have arrived! Tilikum’s ending time varies slightly due to the various skits and activities occurring on any given day. We appreciate your flexibility. Kids will return to Bauman’s parking lot, next to the auditorium at George Fox University. You may pick your child up anytime between 4:15 and 5:00 p.m. Students will be in Lemmons 12 to enjoy snacks and down-time after a fun day of camp.  Please do not take your child home until you have properly checked them out.

Tilikum Packing List
