Peace with Justice — Kay Ellison

We are getting very excited for Saturday, September 8 to arrive! That is when the Vancouver Peace and Justice Fair will spend the day in Vancouver’s downtown Esther Short Park. Nine years ago I felt led to bring people together who work for peace and justice in different ways in a fun setting. Now we have about 70 groups that come with tables to share about what they do. From Habitat for Humanity to the Humane Society to Free Geek, from faith groups to educational groups such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters—helping others is honored. Northwest Yearly Meeting is represented this year by Camas Friends who tells about their laundry love ministry. When a passerby saw the Fair Trade Coffee that a church was selling she exclaimed, “Wow, I didn’t know churches did such cool stuff! I actually want to go to a church!” Why not be part of this? We are looking for people who are willing to reenact “Peace Heroes,” such as John Woolman. Interested in helping, or just visiting? See our website: www.vancouverpeaceandjusticefair.org
