As time approaches for my biggest event of the year, the Vancouver Peace and Justice Fair, I find inner peace is harder to find. Being worried can take away from my personal peace. As I reflected on that before getting up this morning, I told God things like, “thank you that I have a bed,” “thank you that I have food,” and “thank you that I have a job.” How can I, a privileged person not in a war zone, be feeling stress? Easy! What does God think about this? Long ago I memorized Philippians 4:6 in the Living Bible: “Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank God for his answers.” I’m glad God cares about me, AND the fair!
