The 2010 Thanksgiving offering continues to come in. So far, we have received more than $7,100! Thank you for your generous giving! Half of the offering will go to supplement the Board of Elders pastoral assistance fund, which supports pastors and their families with counseling services. The other half of the offering is going to the Hubert and Vivian Thornburg Scholarship through Friends Center. Along with a generous year-end gift by a few other donors, this endowed scholarship can now be used to help support Friends students in their work at George Fox Evangelical Seminary.
Each year the Board of Congregational Care helps raise funds through two “Share Call” opportunities. This fall’s Share Call helped provide a new heating system for the Iglesia Amigos en McMinnville. $6900 was raised! These funds nearly covered the cost of two new systems needed for the parsonage and worship space. Thank you for your partnership with this local congregation!
MidWinter 2011 was at Eugene Friends with nearly 50 students and staff coming together. Jon Maroni (2nd Street) was the weekend speaker, teaching on the rhythm of Christ’s life. The students participated in an afternoon service project, ‘80s roller skating, and a great deal of building community. Thank you, Eugene Friends, for hosting both MidWinter and a Bible Quiz Meet in the same month!

Student team members include: Anna Jolliff (North Valley), Jered McConaughey (North Valley), Aaron Posey (Crossroads Community), Janna Fawver (Newberg Friends), Natalie Koskela (Newberg Friends), Joseph Canepa (Sherwood Friends), and Katie Comfort (Reedwood Friends).
