JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Board Coordinator and Contributions Coordinator
for
G.O. Missionary News for Young Friends

Board Coordinator: (Has been a member of the Board of Christian Education and Discipleship
but this does not have to be the case.)

It has been the duty of the Board Coordinator for G.O. to keep the Board of Education and
Discipleship, the Board of Global Outreach and the Communications Board informed of
what is happening with G.O. This consists of turning in a written report to each board each
year at Mid-Year Board Meetings and at Yearly Meeting. Sometimes a report has been
turned in at the Fall Retreat.
If there are questions that need to be answered during the year, the Board Coordinator
usually works at obtaining answers from the proper people. An example of this would be to
check with people to see if wording used in G.O. would pose potential harm to our workers
abroad.

Contributions Coordinator: (Has been a volunteer position)

It is the duty of the Contributions Coordinator to:

1. Contact potential writers to see if they are willing to write articles for G.O.
2. Keep the Writing Guidelines and the Cover Letter up to date so they can be
given to potential writers.
3. Maintain a file of past copies of G.O. to use as samples for potential writers.
4. Answer questions from the writers as they arise.
5. Set a tentative schedule of future issues of G.O.
6. Send notes of thanks to writers after they have agreed to write and after their
issue has been published.
7. Send copies of G.O. to family members that may have an interest in the issue.
8. Keep a file, on the computer, of all contributions that writers send in until that
issue has been printed. (The Editor and the Contributions Coordinator each do this so material is less likely to get lost.)
