Friends Women
Friends Women coordinates women’s groups in the individual churches of the yearly meeting area. Projects include the support of a missionary family on a foreign field and partial support of a family in Northwest Yearly Meeting involved in church planting. It also serves as an information link with the work of Evangelical Friends International. Groups within individual churches also have service projects in their local areas, as well as holding fellowship and support meetings.
Fall Retreats
Each year, women gather for retreats at Quaker Hill and Twin Rocks. Go to the Friends Women Retreat page for this year’s information.

Friends Women Projects for 2009-2010
Giving has been down this past year and with current economic conditions being what they are, and in an effort to keep our goals attainable we are cutting back this year. Below are the projects for 2009-2010.
- $500 – $1,000 Women’s ministries in Morocco. Betty Kelley is teaching quilting at a women s association and has been asked by two different handicap centers to travel to their areas to teach the staff and mothers of these centers how to do simple crafts that they can sell. This helps them become self sufficient and enables them to purchase medicine for their children. One place is Medilt, and the other is Layoone. The money would be for traveling to these centers and purchasing supplies. We hope to be able to repeat these trips.
- $1,200 Nishan handicap center in Medilt and Layoone, Morroco. Medication for children. The sooner the children get medication, the less seizures, more brain function and better chance of recovery from birth defects that lead to cerebral palsy.
- $500 for English teaching materials. Christy Neifert will be teaching two English classes to members of the New Covenant Church in Haifa. This will not only increase and improve their opportunities for employment, but also allow them to take Bible classes that are intermittently offered in Haifa or to pursue a degree from Nazareth Evangelical Theological Seminary. The funds are for her materials. The students purchase their own.
- $2500 Teaching Abroad Team mid-year retreat. The Teaching Abroad team greatly appreciates the money you have raised for their mid-year retreat. This is a very big deal as it allows them to get away and recharge the batteries. It is also an expense that TA can’t do very well by itself. So adding this again would be wonderful.
- $300 Karen Swenson Retreat. Karen teaches in Hungary and does not get to attend the China retreat. We would like to help her attend another retreat or Christian conference for teaching.
Total Goal: $5500
