The primary purpose of the Associate Pastor position is to facilitate discipleship and integration of people into the life of the church. The Associate Pastor works with current ministries and committees to foster whole life discipleship, participation in fellowship of the church, and involvement in ministry.
Greenleaf, Idaho is located 35 miles northwest of Boise in an area known as the Treasure Valley. Friends settled in this area and began the town and church in the early 1900s. The church founded Greenleaf Friends Academy in 1908. Today this part of Idaho is one of the fastest growing areas in the United States. Greenleaf has always been under 1,000 in population but will likely grow to several times its current size in the next ten years.
Between the English and Spanish worship services Greenleaf Friends has averaged 170-180 in worship for many years. The church is intentionally organizing to allow for worship attendance of 350-400 in anticipation of growth in the community, to strengthen the support base for Greenleaf Friends Academy and our two missionary families currently on the field, and to engage in church planting.
The Associate Pastor for Equipping and Connections is a new position that is intended to help the church meet current needs and prepare for the future.
Please contact Greenleaf Friends’ pastor, Alan Weinacht at firstname.lastname@example.org for position description and application information. Application review and processing will begin December 2, 2019.
