The Battleground area of southwest Washington is mostly rural, and there is still a lot of farming as well as other blue-collar work.There are also many people retired from California, and others who work in Portland and commute from the country.People from the area are mostly Caucasian. There are a number of Apostolic Lutherans in the area, and many Russians have arrived in the past 5-8 years. Cherry Grove Friends Church is involved in many ministries.When they see a need, they try to fill it. (From the Spotlight on Cherry Grove.)
